Storyline
In a tranquil Italian village, a young priest struggles with dwindling church attendance while the town bustles with life. Tensions flare between bocce players Carlo and Giovanni, and their lucky bocce ball goes missing. As the priest grapples with his conscience and the bocce team despairs, a chance confession and a mysterious act may hold the key to their redemption. It's a story of faith, forgiveness, and the power of second chances.
Director's statement
BOCCE explores the consequences of a society grappling with a collective lack of belief. As communities falter in their shared convictions, the bonds that once held them together begin to unravel.
This film reminds us that it's small things that bind us together, and it's the collective love and energy that make us stronger as a community. Additionally, we need to constantly have belief in miracles, whether they are big or small. And also, that no one is perfect, and that's okay.
As a director, I aim to provoke contemplation and introspection. By capturing the intricacies of belief and its absence, the film invites audiences to question, reflect, and perhaps rediscover the significance of faith in their own lives.
